Ritual and Ceremony

sRituals are a powerful tool to usher and welcome changes into our lives. Every culture has recognizable rituals for birth, coming of age, marriage, and death.  In addition people might have rituals for initiation, purification, healing, and intention setting as well as daily rituals to maintain our intentions throughout the day.

Why Create a Ritual or Ceremony?

A planned ritual can give a powerful boost to your intentions and radically free your energies to be present in all the ways that you are called.  A carefully planned ritual or ceremony will allow you to achieve inner and outer goals with more ease and grace.  When you perform a ritual it is as if you are creating a contract with yourself and anyone else present.  Many people find an inner settling after marrying their partner, for example, even if previously they believed marriage would not change anything.  This is because a ritual changes how you perceive yourself and how others perceive you, reinforcing your new reality.  The ritual will create an experience and memory that will be always there to refer to and help you when facing obstacles.  For example, remembering vows of marriage or intentions, can allow you to achieve a peaceful state in a moment of anger.

What should I create a Ritual for?

Other than marriage, you may want to finally find peace from that breakup still haunting you, renew your relationship or marriage, find acceptance and peace for a new stage of life marked by a death --or sometimes by a birth!

Professionally, it might involve launching a new endeavor or business, and setting the attitude and cultural "tone" of your workplace or team.

In practical terms, a ritual can save you years of counseling and frustration, if you prepare well for it by cultivating single mindedness and intention.
